Tier-Gründer Lawrence Leuschner spendet seine Anteile

Starke Aktion: Tier Mobility-Gründer Lawrence Leuschner verschenkt bzw. spendet seine Anteile am jungen E-Scooter-Startup – unter Mithilfe von Founders Pledge – an die von ihm ins Leben gerufene Gesellschaft Blue Impact Ventures. Auf der Website von Blue Impact heißt es: “We invest and support teams, that have the vision to tackle real challenges with impact for the environment as well as in public health, democracy, nutrition, and transportation”.

Auf Linkedin schreibt Leuschner: “It’s time to give back! I’m pledging 100% of my TIER Mobility shares and exit proceeds via Founders Pledge to Blue Impact Ventures for the future of our planet! For me, the mission is and always has been to build impactful businesses that positively affect the lives of individuals and the planet at large. From founding reBuy in high school and giving over 100 million products a second life, to now changing mobility for good at TIER; it is my purpose to support sustainability and especially fight #climatechange. The full 100% will be donated when I exit TIER and liquidate my shares. The timing of this is not confirmed, nor planned”.

In einem Medium-Artikel vertieft er das Thema noch einmal genauer: “On the 9th of March this year, I signed my Founders Pledge commitment to transfer all my shares in TIER to “Blue/Impact”. Blue/Impact is my personal investment vehicle for backing and supporting the next generation of impact entrepreneurs. Over the past years, the vehicle has invested in early-stage rounds of some of Europe’s most ambitious founders looking to make serious dents in the UN sustainable development goals. Amongst others, we supported companies looking to improve health care, provide nutritious food solutions, develop more energy-efficient production processes and track CO2 emissions. The “evergreen” structure of the vehicle will assure that all proceeds will be re-deployed back into the fund with no payouts permitted for my personal wealth. Blue/Impact will always exist to invest capital into aspiring impact businesses and help founders realize their vision of a better tomorrow”.

Mit so einer Aktion findet man dann schnell auch Erwähung in der “Bild”. Das Boulevard-Blatt zitiert Leuschner so: “Ich habe alles, was ich brauche! Eine wunderbare Beziehung, einen gesunden Körper und Geist, großartige Freunde und Familie, ein schönes Zuhause, und ich durfte viele Ort sehen. Freiheit ist der wichtigste Luxus in meinem persönlichen Wertesystem, und ich habe festgestellt, dass Geld mir nicht hilft, diese zu erreichen. Daher werde ich alle meine Anteile an meiner Firma Tier im Falle eines Verkaufs spenden.” Und es kommt noch besser: Auch Mitgründer Tier-Mitgründer Matthias Laug spendet seine Anteile. Wichtig dabei zu wissen: Die Sache ist endgültig und unumkehrbar! Dieses Versprechen zumindest hat Leuschner Founders Pledge gegeben und auch unterschrieben. Voher hat er sich viele Gedanken gemacht, welches Konstrukt optimal für seine Belange, also das Investieren in nachhaltige Startups ist. Eine Stiftung passte deswegen nicht. Eine gGmbH sei auch nicht praktikabel, wie er mitteilt. Deswegen Founders Pledge und Blue Impact Ventures.

Leuschner, der in der Vergangenheit schon den Re-Commerce-Riesen reBuy aufgebaut hat, hielt zuletzt 13,6 % an Tier. Mitgründer Laug war noch mit 4,8 % an Bord. Bei einer kolportierten Bewertung von rund 300 Millionen Euro sind die Anteile der Gründer somit auf dem Papier  derzeit rund 40,8 Millionen bzw. 14,4 Millionen wert. Im Falle eines Exits kann dies aber deutlich mehr, aber auch weniger sein. So oder so ist diese Aktion eine Sache, an der sich viele millionenschwere Gründer ein Beispiel nehmen sollten.
